The study compared torcetrapib plus atorvastatin with atorvatstin alone. Inhibition of CETP increases HDL levels and reduces LDL levels and should combat atherosclerosis. Sarah Maxwell spoke withPhilip Barterwho presented data on the ILLUMINATE trial at the American Heart Association meeting in Orlando.
